Experience - Byrne & Byrne Law Offices

2022 to present.
As an associate, Nicole provides support in municipal land use issues by a
dvising multiple municipal land use offices and commissions regarding land use and other legal issues. Nicole has litigated appeals of decisions at the administrative and court levels. Nicole has also litigated FOIA complaints at contested hearings. Nicole is expanding the firm to provide document drafting services in probate matters and collaborative divorces. She is experienced in estate planning, drafts probate and estate documents. and probates estates. Nicole serves as a court-appointed attorney for indigent persons in probate matters, including voluntary and involuntary petitions for conservator and involuntary commitments. Nicole has also provided her services pro bono to members of the LGBTQ+ community in Petitions for Change of Name.

Experience - Temporary Assistant Clerk at the Hartford Superior Court

2019 to 2022.

During law school and while studying for the bar exam, Nicole worked as a Temporary Assistant Clerk in the Family Division, then Civil Division of the Hartford Superior Court. As a clerk, Nicole gained practical trial experience in the fast-paced courthouse environment. Nicole also became intimately familiar with the process of filing a divorce petition, child custody application, or temporary restraining order and methods to expedite the process.

Juris Doctorate, 2021

Nicole was a part-time evening student at the University of Connecticut School of Law while working as a Temporary Assistant Clerk. She served as an articles editor for the Connecticut Journal of International Law. Nicole proudly completed her student note over a period of several years: "I Will Call for a Pen and Write my Mind:" Shakespeare in Law in the United States and the United Kingdom.

Education - University of Saint Joseph, West Hartford, CT

Bachelors of Arts, Philosophy & English, 2017, Summa Cum Ladue.

Nicole proudly served as Senior Editor of Interpretations Literary Magazine both as a junior and senior at the University of Saint Joseph. Nicole completed her philosophy senior thesis, titled Contemplating the Nature of Poetry: A Comparison and Application of Heidegger’s and Langer’s Theories of the Nature of Poetry. She also completed her English senior thesis, titled Forgotten Friends: The Diminishment of Female Friendships as a Result of Women’s Economic and Social Dependence in Evelina. Presented paper - Fables and Folly: Intertextual Allusions in Romeo and Juliet.
